Helping Victims of Hurricane Ike
The World Headquarters for Collegefootballtopten.com is proudly located in Fort Worth, TX. It wasn’t really that bad in Fort Worth yesterday as Hurricane Ike steered east of the DFW area and dumped its rain all over our friends in East Texas. We really just had a rainy day, no floods. Galveston and Houston, however, took a direct blow. By now you have seen the pictures of both places on the TV. Our neighbors to the south are going to struggle for a while to clean up. Word out of Houston 90% of the city is without power.
I want to encourage readers of Collegefootballtopten.com to consider giving to the Red Cross to help victims of Hurricane Ike. I don’t really have any kind of partnership or anything with them, but it is the right thing to do. Moreover, if your church or social organization has some kind of response to these type of disasters, consider giving to that in addition to, or instead of. Either way, our friends in the Houston and Galveston area are going to need our help.
If you decide to give through the Red Cross, here is a link for you to use. You give to the Red Cross through its National Disaster Relief Fund, which will, I am sure, be focused on our friends in the Houston-Galveson area.
