Playing the Odds

If you are someone who “plays the odds,” then you are always interested in what will happen at the end of the season.  Every season is unique with unique outcomes, but all fans will be wondering how the season will play out.  It is always fun to speculate and prognosticate who will win what.  Get some facts right, and you have bragging rights.

For others, those who are involved in NCAA football betting; get some things right, and it could lead to some instant cash flow.

July 17, 2010- Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - Poker player JONATHAN DUHAMEL (L) reacts after just winning a 2 million pot after MATT AFFLECK bet all in at the 41th Annual World Series of Poker at the Rio Hotel & Casino on July 17, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Final Table of nine players will be Nov. 6-8.

I like to speculate as much as anybody.  Each time I get something right, it lends to my credibility.  However, it is predicting the things that no one sees coming that gives someone the edge.  After all, anyone can say Alabama or Florida will have a good season because there is a very good chance of that.

What about the Heisman Trophy winner?  Did anyone think that Mark Ingram would win the trophy last year?  People are already making predictions on who will win the trophy this year.  I have already listed my top ten contenders as have others..

Who do you think is under the radar?  Leave comments below.

So, no matter why we make predictions, we all enjoy “playing the odds.”  The reward is only dependent on the chance we take.
