Last year, Oregon broke through by overtaking USC as the champions of the Pacific 10 Conference, soon to be known as the Pacific 12. USC was the conference dynasty for almost a decade. The past couple of years, the Trojans won in spite of unlikely upsets to Oregon State and Stanford. The dynasty was crumbling, and behind a True Freshman quarterback the Trojans were unable to win the 2009 title.
Several teams began to catch up with the Trojans and when the dust settled, along with Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford and Arizona all finished ahead of USC. Gone is Pete Carroll who vaulted to Seattle to coach the NFL’s Seahawks and in is Lane Kiffin who has a way of making everyone mad.
Will the Trojans rebound from finishing somewhere other than first to recapture their league dynasty? How will the events of the offseason affect USC? There are many questions to answer heading in to 2010.
