What do you want for Christmas?

Merry Christmas to all of the CFTT readers out there!  Thanks for following us for the 2010 season.

If you haven’t had a chance, be sure and see who the winners were for the 2010 CFTT Pickem.

What is it you want for Christmas?  A national championship?  Be with family?  A new car?  We all have lots of wishes for sure, but sometimes it’s best to be simple.  Enjoy the video by Mariah Carey who reminds us sometimes, it’s just the ones we love and being with them that we want, or need, for Christmas.

Love you Mariah! Can we officially make her a CFTT Crush?  You bet!

Donate to the Red Kettle

PARK RIDGE, IL - DECEMBER 20: A donation is made into Salvation Army bell ringer Juanita Brown's red Holiday donation kettle December 20, 2005 in Park Ridge, Illinois. Since 1865, the Salvation Army has been helping the needy and every year close to 33 million people in the U.S. receive help from the Salvation Army. (Photo by Tim Boyle/Getty Images)

We have partnered with the Salvation Army to give readers at CFTT an opportunity to donate to their Red Kettle Campaign.  As you know, the campaign is kicked off every year during the halftime of the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Game.

The Salvation Army is a very generous organization which helps millions of people who are struggling with financial difficulties, addiction, homelessness and much, much more.  They depend on the generosity of people like you and me to help these people in need.

I don’t really have to tell you, or explain to you the good that the Salvation Army does because you already know that.  We are hurried as the holidays come rushing in, and sometimes we have a hard time finding time to donate.  Well, you can do that from the CFTT website by clicking on the red kettle banner at the top of the right sidebar.

There is nothing in it for me or CFTT.  It is just the knowledge that we helped do something that is bigger than ourselves.  Please, take the opportunity to consider donating to this wonderful cause.

Thanks,

Todd

Exciting call from high school football game in Arkansas

This is a game that was being streamed online for my hometown football team by the Batesville Guard. The guys calling the play I went to school with, actually played football with them.

It is an improbable scenario. Batesville (my hometown) trailed 13-10 with less than a minute left. The home team, Wynne, is on Batesville’s two yard line about to score to put the game out of reach. Batesville needed a miracle really, and they got one. The video tells the rest of the story.

Not to be left out is the kid running the touchdown, Matthew Showalter. He can play football! He should be playing on Saturday.

Ronald and Jasson were interviewed by KTHV’s Sports Special (Channel 11 in Little Rock) for the call. Great stuff.

CFTT gets air time!

I know, I know, I have been just posting stuff about pretty girls, but someone cared enough to get my opinion.

Sean from Collegefootball360online.com called me earlier this week to interview me about the Arkansas vs. Alabama game this week.  This interview was for my work at Examiner.com as the Razorbacks Examiner, but it was a thrill to do the spot (not really CFTT, but I mentioned us!).

The interview is up at his website and will be played on Saturday morning on the ESPN affiliate radio station in South Bend, IN.

The podcast is here.

My article on “Seven key ingredients for a Razorback upset” is here.

You can all say you knew me when!  LOL

I doubt that ESPN will be calling, but I had some fun.  Maybe I’ll get the chance to do it again.

Masoli-gate Reopened

Can it get any more interesting in Oxford, MS for the Rebel fans and head coach Houston Nutt?  Jeremiah Masoli was ruled eligible now as the NCAA decided to overturn their own ruling to not allow the waiver for transferring from one school to another who has a graduate degree program that the firs school did not have.

The college football landscape is changing . . . . again.  The MWC has had several moves already this year when they lost Utah to the Pac 10 and with the arrival of Boise State.  Tonight, however, another move was made as the MWC welcomes two new members.  In a press released Wednesday night, the conference made the announcement.
