I now have the grand prize for the DFW Pickem.  I wanted to wait until I had it in hand before I made the announcement.  Now, with about three weeks or so left, I will give you a little incentive.  We are playing for an autographed copy of Bob Lilly’s book A Cowboy’s Life.  That’s right, Bob signed it last night, and it will be the grand prize for the winner of the DFW Pickem.  I have some other prizes to throw in, but the big one is the book.

Note: You’ll notice that I adjusted the point totals for three players.  They are the three winners of tiebreakers.  They each got one point for winning a tiebreaker.

Congratulations to Rebeltime for winning Week 4 of the DFW Pickem.  Rebeltime won the tiebreaker by picking Boise State to beat Oregon 30-28.  Boise State won the game 37-32, but those of us who tied with Rebeltime picked Oregon to win.  Seven different people tied for first in Week 4 with a 4-1 record, but it was the correct prediction of the Boise victory that set Rebeltime apart.  Here are the results.

Of course, the standings for the entire year thus far are located on the left side-bar.

Just a note: SMU’s game with Tulane is Thursday night. Therefore, you might want to pick your games as soon as you can. The picks should be open sometime later today. You don’t want to wait until Friday or you will miss that game.

Week two was successful for everyone.  All the pool members but two finished 4-1 for the week, and the other two went 3-2, therefore, they were only a game off.  I win the tie breaker.  I was closer to score of the TCU game with Stephen F. Austin.  Nevertheless, the overall standings are in the widget which is in the left column.  I will leave the widget up until the season is over, and we have got 13 weeks left!  Wow!  Can you all endure?

I am going to look over next week’s games and choose the games.

We will keep an eye on the LSU game as another hurricane is expected to enter the gulf.  If the games gets postponed or cancelled, then I’ll pick another game.  Start researching your picks as I am sure the picks will open to make by Monday night.
