Fall E-zine

Posted on August 26, 2009 in: 2009, CFTT News|View Comments

I am publishing a 2009 Fall E-zine through Dfwfootball.net.  Ah yes, the Fall football season is almost here!  I hope you are excited as I am!

The E-zine will be available (with figures crossed), on Friday, August 28, 2009.  All you will have to do is go to Dfwfootball.net, and click on the link that will be front and center on the home page.  The E-zine will be published in a pdf format, so keep that in mind.

The E-zine incldes articles from our friends at SpitbloodTCU.com and GoMeanGreen.com.  So, if you get a chance, navigate over to their sites and tell them thanks!

In the future, I hope to have an article from Adam Jones of JonesTopTen.com previewing the Texas-OU game.  I am also looking for other guest writers, so if you would like to write an article at Collegefootballtopten.com about your favorite team, or anything college football related, drop me a note.

We will begin are Texas Tour next week.  I hope to have an article on Texas and Texas A&M, and we’ll see what else we can come up with.

For the preview article on TCU and UNT, check out the E-zine.

FANARCHY is Upon Us

Posted on June 15, 2009 in: 2009, CFTT News|View Comments

Versus has jumped on the blogging band wagon.  In effort to set itself apart, the cable network, which covers Mountain West Conference games including Fort Worth’s TCU, is launching a unique “round table” type show featuring the nations best bloggers.

This is a chance for a blogger to be on TV.  How great is that?  The show, called FANARCHY, begins Tuesday, June 16, 2009.

From Sinuate Media

FANARCHY is a show by the fans for the fans, bringing the robust online world of sports banter to life on television. This is a weekly half-hour series, hosted by Zach Selwyn will debut on Sunday, June 7, at 11 p.m. ET and will air regularly on Tuesday nights at 10:30 p.m. ET, beginning June 16.

Each FANARCHY episode will feature seven very opinionated sports fans appearing on-air via their personal webcams.  From on- and off-the-field athlete antics and bogus referee calls to what they would’ve done if they were the coach or owner, FANARCHY guests will be giving their unvarnished take on everything and anything outrageous and controversial currently happening in sports in a frenzied back-and-forth style.

Now, because some bloggers come to my site to see what nonsense I am spewing, I am supposed to let you know that, you too, can audition to be a part of the how.  Just proceed to www.Versus.com/FANARCHY.

I’m Back

Posted on April 12, 2009 in: 2009, CFTT News|View Comments

I apologize and beg your pardon.  I have been busy securing my new site, dfwfootball.net.  Never fear, I will not stop updating Collegefootballtopten.com.  Alas, there will be some changes to CFTT.  I will, however, be pondering the direction of CFTT as dfwfootball.net is now my main work.

Changes to CFTT include a new theme.  The theme is Mimbo v. 3.0  designed by Darren Hoyt.   Darren has become my new favorite theme designer.  The theme is specifically designed with the look and feel of a magazine.  This should make some of my feature areas of the blog easier to find.  I also use one of the older Mimbo themes for dfwfootball.net.

I will focus more on fun and humor in my writing here at CFTT.  I do plan on running the DFW Pickem in the fall once again.  We had a lot of fun and it was helpful in establishing traffic at my site.

There will be no more Dallas-Fort Worth football at CFTT.  That is because I have moved all of that to dfwfootball.net.  I might occasionally mention one of the three DFW teams in the course of my blogging.  TCU became very relevant at the end of the year last season finishing number 7 in the final BCS poll.  However, if you are looking for a press release or any particular news, I encourage you to mark dfwfootball.net in your browser bookmarks.

There will be direct advertising opportunities.  I will continue to use Yardbarker and Google Ads, however, I am going to offer a cross site package of advertising which will include dfwfootball.net and other future website projects.  This will help advertisers be able take advantage of the most traffic possible.
