Huskerhorsepower’s picks Leads Pickem

Huskerhorsepower’s leads the pickem.  He (or she) has a good jump on everyone else, and with Nebraska’s big win tonight, he might be smooth sailing.  Who has the drive to catch him?

Fun Office Pools

Last year, we hosed a CFTT Pick’em.  The pool is hosted by our friends at Fun Office Pools, and they are nice enough to consider us a partner.

Therefore, if you joined last year, or if you wold like to join this year, just head on over to Fun Office Pools and join our group under the Partners section.  Of course, you will have to register with Fun Office Pools to use the site, but it is a ton of fun!

Last year’s winner, Grayhound, has signed up and looking for a back-to-back title.  Can anyone keep him from going for two in a row?  Or will he create a dynasty?

Fantrax.com

If that is not enough for you, then you can play fantasy football.  At my site, dfwfootball.net, I am hosting a fantasy football league through Fantrax.com.

We already have two teams in the league, and we need to finish setting it up because we will have to have a draft since the season starts soon.  I changed my league to a public league, so all you have to do is sign up at Fantrax.com and find the dfwfootball league.

Have fune.

Grayhound’s Picks Wins DFW Pickem

Ron Gift, otherwise known as Grayhound’s Picks rallied to win the DFW Pickem based on tie breakers.  Ron had an incredible four tie breaker wins to put him in a tie for first with Gary Hutcherson, otherwise known as HUTCH’s Picks, with 58 points.  When you look at the pic of the final results at the bottom, it will list cftt’s picks as first, but that is me.  Therefore, I will not be awarding myself any prizes.

Ron is retired and lives in Henrico, VA, which is near Richmond.  Ron kind of roots for the underdog, and he likes and admires Joe Paterno which helps him lean toward Penn State.  At 73 years young, Ron has 4 children and 8 grandchildren.  Ron will receive a autographed copy of A Cowboy’s Life by Bob Lilly.  Congratulations Ron!

The second place winner (co-winner) is Gary Hutcherson who lives Frankfurt, KY.  Gary is a native Texan and a big Dallas Cowboy fan.  Gary also follows the Texas Longhorns and the Alabama Crimson Tide.  It must have been a good year for Gary.  Gary also mentioned that he played linebacker for Western Kentucky University.

Rounding out the top 5 is THE FINCH from SpitbloodTCU.com, tommyallen’s picks, and rebeltimes picks.  I have accumulated a few prizes, therefore, the top 5 will receive something from

Collegefootballtopten.com.  It was a good year as we will not play the next week of the championship games.  Gary asked me if we were going to do a bowl pickem, but I have decided not to.  However, if you are interested in joining a bowl pickem, I recommend you signing up to play with SpitBloodTCU.  I am sure there will be others at the Fun Office Pools website.  I have thought about doing some kind of mock playoff which would be interactive somehow.

Grayhound’s Picks won based on winning 4 tie breakers.

DFW Pickem: What We’re Playing For

I now have the grand prize for the DFW Pickem.  I wanted to wait until I had it in hand before I made the announcement.  Now, with about three weeks or so left, I will give you a little incentive.  We are playing for an autographed copy of Bob Lilly’s book A Cowboy’s Life.  That’s right, Bob signed it last night, and it will be the grand prize for the winner of the DFW Pickem.  I have some other prizes to throw in, but the big one is the book.

Check out the write up that I did for Pegasus News.  I will post pics I took of the event in a few more days on my flickr page.  As soon as I have everything up, I will post the link.
